Sweet Coconut Powder Prashad|Sweet Kobbari Podi Prasadam

Sweet Kobbari Podi – This no cook prasadam is an easy and simple recipe to make and offer as naivedyam to god or to distribute as prasadam to people who come to visit bommala koluvu / golu. You can also take it to temple as prasadam. Navrathri is around the corner. I would like to share a few easy prasadam recipes for all 9 days.

Kobbari Podi Prasadam is a combination of grated dry coconut, nuts/dry fruits fried in ghee, elaichi and powdered sugar. Do not grind coconut. It looks good with grated(use small holes on grater) only. You can adjust the quantity of nuts and you can add as many varieties of nuts as you like.

How to make Sweet Kobbari Podi Prasadam

PREP TIME: 5 MINS  COOK TIME: 1 MIN  TOTAL TIME: 6 MINS  COURSE: DESSERTS/SWEETS CUISINE:INDIAN SERVINGS : 7-8

Ingredients

  • dry coconut (copra), grated – 1/2 cup
  • sugar powder/confectioners sugar – little less than 1/2 cup
  • elaichi/cardamom – 2-3 – make powder
  • ghee – 1 tsp
  • cashews – 2 tbsp
  • raisins – 1 tbsp
  • pista – 1 tbsp (optional)
  • walnuts – 1 tbsp (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add dry grated coconut, powdered sugar and elaichi in a small mixing bowl.
  2. Make nuts into small pieces or 1/4th size pieces.
  3. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a small seasoning pan and add cashews, raisins, pista, almonds and walnuts. Fry till they get nice color.
  4. Add these to cocnut.
  5. Mix everything well.

Tips

  1. It looks good with only grated coconut. you can grate the dry coconut (copra).
  2. You can add any kinds of nuts you like.
  3. You may adjust the quantity of nuts.
