Masala Butter Milk|Masala Chaas|Spiced Butter Milk

Masala Butter Milk – This healthy spiced butter milk is a perfect way to beat the heat during hot summers. This is also called Masala Chaas. This refreshing drink is easy to digest and usually served after lunch or dinner. But this summer cooler can be enjoyed any time of the day. Masala Butter milk is made from all healthy ingredients and home made curd/yogurt. Curd helps in digestion as it has healthy bacteria.

Masala Butter Milk can be made in many variations.

How to make Masala Butter Milk|Masala Chaas

Ingredients

  • curd/yogurt – 1 cup
  • mint leaves – 15
  • cilantro – few leaves
  • green chilli – 1/2 – adjust to your spice level
  • roasted cumin/jeera powder – 1.5 tsp
  • ginger – 1/2″
  • black salt/kalaa namak – 1/4 tsp/to taste
  • salt – 1/4 tsp – adjust
  • crushed ice/ice cubes – 1/2 cup
  • water – 1 cup

Instructions

  1. In a blender, add mint leaves, cilantro, green chilli, roasted cumin powder, black salt, salt, ginger and 1/2 cup curd/yogurt.
  2. Blend the mixture to make a smooth paste.
  3. Now add remaining 1/2 cup curd/yogurt, ice cubes and water. Blend until frothy.
  4. Pour in glasses and serve immediately or chilled. You can add more ice cubes.

Tips

  1. You may add pepper, chat masala, dhaniya seeds dal/roasted split coriander and hing.
  2. You may add tempering with ghee, mustard seeds, jeera and curry leaves.
  3. Adjust salt and green chilli according to your taste.
  4. Hand blender has been used here. Any blender or magic bullet would work as well.

Note: Hand blender has been used here. Any blender or magic bullet would work as well.
