Instant Parle-G Cake

Parle-G biscuit cake is the simplest and cheapest cake ever. This 15 min cake is an egg-less cake with just 5 ingredients. You don’t need to have a oven to make this. There are several ways to make this cake. You can use a pressure cooker / microwave oven / air fryer / insta-pot / just a pan with water on stove top. Baking in the oven is the quickest.

This cake is not too sweet, that is the best thing I like with this cake.

How to make Instant Parle-G Biscuit Cake

PREP TIME: 5 MINS  COOK TIME: 5-10 MINS  TOTAL TIME: 15 MINS  COURSE: SWEETS/DESSERTS CUISINE: INDIAN SERVINGS : 5

Ingredients

  • For Cake: Parle-G biscuits – 4 packs (56 gms/1.99 oz pack)
  • coco powder – 3 tbsp
  • baking powder – 1/2-1 tsp
  • oil – 1 tsp
  • milk – 1-1.5 cups
  • sugar – 1 tbsp (optional – add if not eating with ice cream)
  • For serving: Vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
  2. Open and add 4 packs of biscuits to a blender and grind to fine powder.
  3. Transfer this powder into a big mixing bowl. Add coco powder, baking powder and oil and mix all the ingredients well.
  4. Add milk little by little and mix well until you get the desired consistency, it should be not too thick or not too thin.
  5. Grease the baking pan with butter or oil.
  6. Pour the batter into the pan. Tap the pan lightly to spread the batter evenly.
  7. Place the baking pan in the oven and set the timer for 10 mins. 5 minutes later, check if the cake is done by inserting a toothpick into the cake. If the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is ready!!! If not, you have to bake it for few more mins.
  8. Melt the chocolate syrup in the microwave for 20-30 sec.
  9. Serve a piece of cake with scoop of vanilla ice cream on it, topped with the melted chocolate syrup.

Tips

  1. You can add nuts in the batter or top the batter with nuts before baking.
  2. This cake can be made without coco powder as well.
  3. For more sweetness you can add sugar. But with ice cream, sugar suffices.
  4. The baked cake stays good for 2-3 days. The steamed cake will stay good for just 1 day.
  5. Can make cake like this with marigold biscuits, bourbon biscuits and danish cookies as well…

Bake/Cook in different ways

In Pressure Cooker: Pour some water and Place a stand/metal coaster in the pressure cooker and turn the flame on and heat for 5 minutes . Then place your baking pan, cover the lid remove the whistle and cook on low flame for 25 minutes. Once the cake is ready turn off the flame and cover the lid back again and let it sit for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes gently remove it and place it on a stand. Wait till it cools down for 10- 15 minutes. Let the cake cool down then cut.

In a Microwave oven: Pour the batter in a microwave safe bowl and cook it on high for 2 mins. (For a mug cake, use 1/2 of the batter in a mug) Do the toothpick test and adjust the cooking time. Let the cake cool down for 5 mins.

In a deep pan on stove top: Take a deep pan with water and place a stand in the pan Steam for the first 15 minutes on high flame. Then keep the flame/heat low and steam for another 10-15 minutes.
